What Is the Sensory Cortex Homunculus?

The sensory cortex homunculus is a distorted human figure drawn across the surface of the brain’s somatosensory cortex, located in the parietal lobe. This part of the brain processes tactile sensations—like touch, pressure, pain, and temperature—from various parts of the body.

It’s not a literal person in the brain, but a symbolic figure showing how much brain space is devoted to sensing each body part.
